French culture and language is famous the world over, so why not give it a try? I have spent the last eight years studying French and have just completed a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics with a minor in French at the University of Georgia.As a non-native speaker of French, I have firsthand experience of the process of learning French. I know what the pitfalls are likely to be and I can help students overcome them. My background in Linguistics also means that I have a special insight into the technical side of the language. Grammar and pronunciation are always at odds with prescriptive rules in one way or another, and I can help pinpoint where the differences are. This cuts down both on frustration and time wasted, which are two of the biggest burdens when learning a new language. My interest in Linguistics means that I can also help students with German, Japanese, and AP courses in French and Japanese.Aside from languages, my interests are cooking, gardening, reading, and spending time with my family and pet dog.
