Experience
I have served as a tutor and Teaching Assistant at GEAR UP, a program which provides extra academic aid to inner city students. Throughout high school and college, I have tutored middle school students in reading, writing, and grammar and have edited and consulted multiple people with term papers. I wan tot be a tutor because I teaching is not only an opportunity to help someone else learn, it's an opportunity for me to learn as well! I live for the moments when students achieve understanding or the "light bulb" moment. I also believe that education is one of the greatest gifts you can bestow upon anyone or that anyone can give to anyone else, and it's a gift I always want to be in a position to give. My courses have included everything from creative writing to technical writing, as well as paper-intensive literature classes and Latin translation courses. I have studied with writers at the University of California in Berkeley, and I have worked as an intern with the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Hobbies
I'm someone who is always getting out and doing things! I love being outside whether I'm going for a run or a hike, and I'm constantly reading. I have probably five books that hang out in my car just in case! I'm always working on a piece of my own writing, from music reviews to short stories to blog posts. Movies and listening to music are my favorite things for relaxing and hanging out with friends, and I could talk about concerts and live music for days on end.
