Private tutor in Chattanooga, TN
I'm currently working on my Education Specialist degree in School Psychology, which has given me a ton of knowledge and technical training in academic interventions for all grade levels in core subjects and academic skills. I've been working in various elementary schools for about a year and a half now, conducting assessments and performing academic interventions with struggling students, for my practicum experience. I got my B.A. from Florida State University in Psychology, and I got a minor in Classic Civilizations.
I've been tutoring since I was in high school. Now that I'm in my Ed.S. program, I've been performing academic support intervention techniques for math, reading, and writing. I have a lot of experience working in schools, and my program has trained me in choosing the most effective academic support plans based upon assessment results that target specific skill areas (basic reading skills vs. reading comprehension, for example). I love working with kids and helping them to achieve their academic goals. That moment when they suddenly understand a concept or solve a problem that they previously didn't believe they were capable of is the best moment in the world! I'm also a tutor on Chegg, and work with undergraduate students that need help in various subjects.

Between my school work and practicum placements, I admittedly don't have a lot of free time! But when I do, I love taking my puppy to the dog park and watching Netflix. I also like to read and keep up with various education blogs. TEDTalks are also a favorite pass-time of mine - I find them so interesting!
