EducationBS in Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
ExperienceI have tutored two students in Spanish- one on a collegiate level and another at the beginner's level. I have also tutored a student in writing and study skills.
I have given lessons on the clarinet to various students in the Nashville and Chattanooga area. I have played the clarinet for over 10 years, and took an introductory piano course at UTC.
I scored a 24 on my ACT, with a sub-score of 31 in Reading and a 28 in English. In college, I have taken Rhetoric and Composition 1 & 2 and received an 'A' in both.
In the area of Spanish, I took Honors Spanish 1 & 2 in high school and received an 'A' in both. In college I have taken Elementary Spanish 1 & 2, Intermediate Spanish for Conversation 1 & 2, Spanish Composition and Conversation 1 & 2, and Advanced Spanish Grammar 1. I also completed an internship with Chattanooga Headstart in which I helped bridge the language barrier between the students and teachers.
I enjoy teaching and watching my students grow as they learn new things. I am comfortable one-on-one or with a group, and excel in patience- especially with those who are beginner's in music or foreign language.
HobbiesMy main interest that consumes a great deal of my time is color guard and winter guard. I enjoy teaching color guard at a local high school, and I also teach winter guard for an independent organization that recently won a gold medal at circuit championships.
