Experience
My past tutoring experience includes working with first and second graders with America Reads, helping them to improve their literacy skills. I also have helped mentor and tutor middle and high school students, mainly in the areas of reading and writing. I am currently studying to be a secondary education teacher. I want to be a teacher because I love learning and I want to help others find these passion as well. This is the same reason why I want to be a tutor. Tutoring would be a great way for me to gain valuable experience that I can use as a teacher. It will allow for me to help students with a subject they may be struggling. I want to tutor also because this is a great way to develop a more personal relationship with a student, not only helping them on a certain subject matter but learning more about their individual stories and perspectives. Hobbies
One of my main interests includes anything that is outside. I enjoy hiking, biking, and climbing. I also love community service. Whether it is building houses, tutoring, or working in a homeless shelter, I love anything where I am doing something for other people. I also thoroughly appreciate comedies and bluegrass music. Overall, I just enjoy being able to laugh and talk with people.
